Ghostbot reducks Duck Amuck for the DS

Ghostbot has the immense pleasure to collaborate with developers Wayforward on Duck Amuck DS. Here's the official lowdown:

Published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by WayForward Technologies, Looney Tunes: Duck Amuck lets players wield the Nintendo DS(TM) stylus to irritate, aggravate and infuriate their own Daffy Duck in humorous ways. In the game inspired by the classic Duck Amuck cartoon, players will compete against Daffy through a series of mini-games that range from retro inspired favorites to modern, innovative gameplay interactions, with the goal of driving Daffy's temperature, and his temper, through the roof. Looney Tunes: Duck Amuck will also feature wireless game play allowing players to not only gang up on Daffy as a team but also battle each other in head-to-head competition.

We've received some really nice praise for the animation:

"The animation of Duck Amuck is one of its strong suits. Done by Ghostbot (the same folks who do those Esurance commercials), the movement is all silky smooth and Daffy looks superb."

We also received "the best artistic design in E3" from mega gaming site IGN:

"Daffy animates with such energy and fluidity in this Nintendo DS game, and it's great to see the developers snag animators willing to give that old-school 2D effort. That effort definitely didn't go unnoticed at E3."

This is a personal dream project for me as I've always been a big fan of the classic Looney Tunes cartoons. It is a true honor to bring such a mega-icon like Daffy to life. We tried to keep the animation fluid and respectful to the amazing work of Chuck Jones and the classic Warner Brothers animators. Wayforward and Warner Brothers were awesome to work with as they really gave us a lot of latitude to make the animation as rich as possible. It was certainly a challenge to keep such an obviously traditionally drawn character looking, and moving well in Flash, but luckily we had an AMAZING crew helping us out with the work.

It was also an honor to develop for the red hot Nintendo DS . I have a lot of admiration for Nintendo and how they've been able to really bring gaming to a whole new generation. (My wife loves Brainage to death)

Duck Amuck DS is scheduled to release this October so charge up those DSs!

ps. thanks for the plug Aaron
