Esurance Layout
For the second Esurance, since Erin was now at the beach instead of in a car dealership, I had the chance to go in and do a few extra poses for layout. I always try to work out as much as possible on paper before scanning the drawings in and creating vector art in Flash. There's just something about good old paper.
This pose actually never made it into the final cut, so I thought I'd post it here. The final vector art is below it.

It's a tragedy that pose never made it in cuz it's SMOKIN!
Brad is responsible for making Erin at least 10% hotter than the last spot.
I say 20%...
Anytime you get the opportunity to view Brad's roughs - moving or still - it's a good day.
Daaaang!
(I'm seriously going to have to get a blogger account now, so I don't have to keep posting anonymously...)
It's interesting looking at the differences between the sketch and final version. Slightly different belt equipment, and there's some quality about the face that seems a little more sharp in the rough than in the other finished art. Is it just that she's looking to the side, or was there a slight redesign?

Hey Tim, sometimes things are left a little rougher when they are scanned, and then slightly refined in flash. In this case, we were having some readability and directional issues once the layout was vectorized. To fix it, we redid her head so she was looking to the side. Ultimately we had to cut it altogether... sometimes even cool stuff gets blown away if the piece flows better without it.
If the commercial was 32 seconds long I think we coulda snuck in this sassy pic. Alas it must live on this wretched blog. Curses!
That's an interesting observation Tim. There is always something very vibrant about roughs over digital cleans don't you think? Case in point, check out some of Brad's animation for this kick ass Ed Bell spot:

Hi I liked your blog. I have been looking for a company which would specialize in servicing and sales of a diverse line of auto insurance products for quite a long time. I browsed the net for some useful info. And decided to go to Esurance. However, before going there I should have checked it out on this great site www.pissedconsumer.com to avoid possible misunderstandings. There people share their bitter experience with different companies.
