T(oo) M(uch)

We've got an ad in the July issue (#002) of Hong Kong based TM Magazine (Toys Metropolis, Transculture Monthly)! We're sandwiched between ads for Rolitoboy and The Noggins (page 76 to be exact). If you're able to snag this specialty magazine, it sports interviews with designers Eric So and James Jarvis.

Bay Area re-pre-sent, yo!

Here are some links from some Bay Area pals to cap off 2004 and catapult you into the new year:

MONSTER SQUID! - Great site from the enigmatic Aaron Blecha (Spazzco, Cartoon Network Online). I haven't met him personally but I've heard many stories of his power...

SADLERISH - Our pal Jason Sadler (Happy Tree Friends, Heavy Metal Guy) cranked out a killer site to host his in-yo-face animated Christmas card. It's just a taste of his Flash prowess. We hate him daily.

LORD CHEEZ - So much can be said about the talented and hilarious Mike Judge a.k.a. "Lord Cheez", but his current main page gallery of "Yeth" is so worth mentioning here. I honestly have no idea what "yeth" is but it's funny as heck. Gotta love non-partisan burger humor.

Happy Tree Friends Winter Break attacks the USA

Hey check out some of our latest work in Happy Tree Friends Winter Break on MTV2. This is one of the first times HTF is being shown on TV domestically!!! Congrats to Kenn and team Mondo.

Roque did the storyboards on "Stealing the Spotlight". Roque, Brad and I along with flash powerhouse David Winn animated the episode. For a sneak peek at "Stealing the Spotlight" you can go to:

Also mad props to Jeff Biancalana, David Winn, John Cimino, Lyla Warren and Edward Artinian and the rest of da Mondo crew for contributing some great animation to Winter Break.

Ghostbot does LA!!

Last week Ghostbot ventured outside of our cozy little Bay Area cubby to the hot asphalt of Burbank. We were there just for the day and had the privilege of hanging out with some of the most talented creators in Tinseltown. Thanks to everyone who made our day!

Notable geek moments: Meeting Mako (Aku from Samurai Jack) and Dante Basco (Rufio from Hook). Both guys were super nice and extremely down to earth.

Adam Hughes in action

Continuing on with the comic book theme (my inner geek has taken over), Comic Art Fans posted up a series of online videos showing one of my favorites, the incredible Adam Hughes, drawing a sketch during a convention. It follows him from initial sketch to inked completion.

I don't know about you guys but I was right with him when he drew the oval for the head but after that, I was lost. Amazing.

1992 Vintage Gelatto

Try as I may, I can never let go of my 1992 fanboy. It's what keeps me going back to the comic store every week in hopes that I'll be teleported back to a time of foil-embossed,#1/2, variant cover,one-copy-to-read-one-copy-to-save-in-it's-bag goodness.

That being said, when I first stumbled on this new blog, I didn't think I'd go back. But my inner fanboy is still stuck in '92, even if he's a little bit older and a little bit more cynical about the comic industry. Kudos to one of the first rockstar comic book artists to emerge from the 90s - Jim Lee - for jumping head first into his blog GELATOMETTI (with help from some of the Wildstorm crew) and posting like a fiend. Cool stuff - demo movies, insider pics, sketches, and ramblings. I can't keep up.

That's why I keep going back for seconds...
